Group Policies for Managed Devices
True Protection by Jag supports group policies that allow administrators to enforce consistent security configurations across all managed devices. Policies define which features are enabled, which settings users can modify, and how the software responds to threats.
Policy Components
- Scan Settings: Define scan schedules, scan types, and exclusion rules.
- Real-Time Protection: Control which protection modules are active and their sensitivity levels.
- Firewall Rules: Deploy standard firewall configurations and restrict user modifications.
- Update Settings: Control when updates are applied and whether users can defer them.
- Privacy Settings: Configure VPN, encryption, and data protection features.
- User Restrictions: Lock specific settings to prevent end users from weakening security.
Creating a Group Policy
- Step 1: In the Management Console, navigate to Policies > Group Policies.
- Step 2: Click Create New Policy.
- Step 3: Name the policy and select a base template (Workstation, Server, or Custom).
- Step 4: Configure each policy section according to your requirements.
- Step 5: Assign the policy to device groups, organizational units, or individual devices.
- Step 6: Click Deploy. Devices will receive the policy within the next sync interval.
Policy Inheritance
Policies follow an inheritance model. Organization-level policies apply to all devices unless overridden by more specific group-level or device-level policies. Conflicts are resolved by specificity, with device-level settings taking the highest priority.
