Bandwidth Monitoring and Network Analytics
True Protection by Jag includes built-in bandwidth monitoring that helps you understand how your network connection is being used. This feature can identify applications consuming excessive bandwidth and detect suspicious data transfers that may indicate malware activity.
Monitoring Features
- Per-Application Bandwidth: See exactly how much data each application is sending and receiving in real time and historically.
- Connection Map: Visual representation of all active connections showing which servers your device is communicating with and where they are located geographically.
- Data Usage Trends: Daily, weekly, and monthly charts showing your network usage patterns over time.
- Anomaly Alerts: JagAI detects unusual spikes in bandwidth usage that could indicate data exfiltration, cryptomining, or other malicious activity.
Viewing Network Analytics
- Step 1: Navigate to Network > Bandwidth Monitor.
- Step 2: The main view shows current bandwidth usage with a real-time graph.
- Step 3: Click Applications to see per-app breakdown.
- Step 4: Click Connections to view active network connections.
- Step 5: Use the date range selector to view historical data.
Setting Bandwidth Limits
You can set bandwidth limits for specific applications to prevent them from consuming your entire connection. Navigate to Network > Bandwidth Monitor > Limits and add rules for applications that should be throttled. This is particularly useful for background update services or cloud sync applications.
