DNS Filtering with True Protection

True Protection by Jag includes a DNS filtering module that blocks access to malicious, phishing, and unwanted domains at the DNS level. DNS filtering stops threats before any connection is established, providing a fast and efficient layer of protection.

How DNS Filtering Works

  • DNS Interception: True Protection intercepts DNS queries from your device and checks the requested domain against threat intelligence databases.
  • Category Blocking: Domains are categorized (malware, phishing, adult content, gambling, social media, etc.) and can be blocked by category.
  • Safe Search Enforcement: Force safe search on major search engines to filter explicit results.
  • Custom Blocklists: Import third-party blocklists or create your own custom domain blocklist.

Configuration

  • Step 1: Navigate to Network > DNS Filtering.
  • Step 2: Enable the DNS filter toggle.
  • Step 3: Select which categories to block. Default profiles include Security Only (blocks malware and phishing) and Family Safe (adds content filtering).
  • Step 4: Add any custom allow or block entries for specific domains.
  • Step 5: Click Apply.

DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS

True Protection supports encrypted DNS protocols to prevent DNS queries from being intercepted or tampered with by network attackers. Navigate to Network > DNS Filtering > Advanced and select your preferred encrypted DNS protocol. The JagAI Secure DNS service is available as a built-in option for encrypted DNS resolution with integrated threat filtering.
