License Pooling and Seat Management

True Protection by Jag uses a flexible license pooling model that allows organizations to manage seats dynamically across their device fleet. This eliminates the need to purchase individual licenses for each device and simplifies onboarding and offboarding.

How License Pooling Works

  • Seat Pool: Your organization purchases a pool of seats. Each protected device consumes one seat from the pool.
  • Dynamic Assignment: When a new device is enrolled, it automatically draws a seat from the pool. When a device is decommissioned, its seat returns to the pool.
  • Over-Provisioning Alerts: If your pool is running low, administrators receive alerts with options to purchase additional seats or review inactive devices.
  • Grace Period: If you temporarily exceed your seat count, a 14-day grace period allows you to resolve the overage without losing protection.

Managing Seats

  • Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Licensing > Seat Management.
  • Step 2: View the current allocation: total seats, active seats, and available seats.
  • Step 3: Click Reclaim Inactive Seats to automatically free seats from devices that have not checked in for a configurable period (default: 30 days).
  • Step 4: Use the Purchase Additional Seats button to expand your pool as needed.

Multi-Site Licensing

Enterprise customers with multiple offices or subsidiaries can partition their license pool into sub-pools assigned to different sites or departments. Each sub-pool has its own allocation and alerts while drawing from the master pool. Navigate to Settings > Licensing > Sub-Pools to configure.
