Wi-Fi Security Analysis and Protection
True Protection by Jag evaluates the security of Wi-Fi networks you connect to and provides protection against common wireless attacks. This feature is especially important when using public Wi-Fi at airports, cafes, and hotels.
Wi-Fi Security Assessment
- Encryption Check: Verifies the encryption standard used (WPA3, WPA2, WPA, WEP, or Open). Networks using WEP or no encryption are flagged as insecure.
- Evil Twin Detection: Identifies rogue access points that impersonate legitimate networks to intercept your traffic.
- Rogue AP Detection: Detects unauthorized access points on enterprise networks that could be used as entry points by attackers.
- Signal Analysis: Monitors for suspicious signal strength changes that could indicate a nearby attacker spoofing a network.
Automatic Protections
- VPN Auto-Connect: Automatically activate Jag Secure VPN when connecting to untrusted or open Wi-Fi networks.
- Network Classification: True Protection classifies networks as Trusted (your home or office), Known (previously connected and verified), or Untrusted (public or new networks).
- Firewall Profile Switching: Automatically applies stricter firewall rules when connected to untrusted networks.
- DNS Protection: Forces all DNS queries through the encrypted JagAI Secure DNS when on untrusted networks.
Configuration
Navigate to Network > Wi-Fi Security to view your current network security assessment. From there, you can configure auto-connect rules for the VPN, manage your trusted network list, and set sensitivity levels for evil twin and rogue AP detection.
