Fixing Slow Performance After Installation
It is normal to experience a brief period of slower performance immediately after installing True Protection by Jag. The software performs initial system indexing and a first-run scan that can temporarily increase resource usage. This typically resolves within a few hours.
If Performance Remains Slow
If sluggish performance continues beyond the initial setup period, try these optimizations:
Optimize Scan Settings
- Set scan priority to Low in Settings > Scanner > Performance.
- Enable Smart Scan Scheduling so scans only run when the system is idle.
- Reduce the archive scanning depth if you have many nested compressed files.
Add Development or Build Tool Exclusions
If you are a software developer, your build tools and compilation processes create many temporary files rapidly. Add these directories to the exclusion list:
- Project build output directories (bin, obj, dist, node_modules)
- Virtual machine disk files
- Docker container storage directories
- Database data directories for local development servers
Check for Compatibility Issues
- Ensure you are running the latest version of True Protection.
- Update your operating system to the latest available version.
- Remove any other security software that may be causing resource contention.
If performance issues persist, contact our support team with a diagnostic report generated from Settings > General > Generate Diagnostic Report.
