True Protection Will Not Open or Start

If True Protection by Jag fails to launch or does not appear in the system tray, follow these troubleshooting steps to get the application running again.

Quick Fixes

  • Restart your computer: A simple restart can resolve temporary issues with services that failed to initialize.
  • Check the system tray: True Protection may be running in the background. Look for the shield icon in the system tray (notification area). Right-click it and select Open Dashboard.
  • Run as Administrator: Right-click the True Protection shortcut and select Run as Administrator.

Advanced Troubleshooting

  • Check Windows Services: Open the Services application (type services.msc in the Start menu). Look for True Protection Service and ensure it is set to Automatic start and is currently running. If stopped, right-click and select Start.
  • Check for Malware Interference: Some sophisticated malware specifically targets security software. Boot into Windows Safe Mode and try launching True Protection from there.
  • Repair the Installation: Go to Settings > Apps > True Protection by Jag and select Modify or Repair.
  • Check Event Logs: Open Windows Event Viewer and look under Application logs for any error entries from True Protection.

Reinstallation

If none of the above steps work, uninstall and reinstall the application. Your license key will remain valid. Download the latest installer from tpjsecurity.com/downloads.
